Our Roots.
It all started in 2008 when CH-Aero, also known as Aviation Monks B.V, was founded. Headquartered in Uithoorn, our expertise in aircraft weighing services quickly spread across Europe and beyond. Coen Smit, a true visionary and co-founder, has been the sole shareholder since 2019.
Coen's Journey.
Coen's passion for aircraft maintenance ignited early in his career at Air Holland, a renowned Dutch airline, in the early 90s. From a mechanic to a technical director, Coen's expertise soared to new heights. In the early 2000s, he seized the opportunity to start his own independent aircraft maintenance company at Schiphol through a management buy-out. Stella Aviation Technics, as it was called, flourished into a global success with multiple locations worldwide.
Challenges & Opportunities.
However, the 2008 crisis brought unexpected challenges to the aviation industry, leading to the closure of Stella Aviation Technics due to the bankruptcy of major clients, predominantly airlines. Undeterred by adversity, Coen saw a new opportunity emerging - the need for flexible weighing solutions.
Innovation & Succes.
In 2014, Coen joined forces with Allscales Europe, a renowned scale manufacturer, to develop his very own weighing scales. By listening to his customers' needs and leveraging his extensive weighing experience, the AW5 series weighing platforms were born. These state-of-the-art scales have been embraced internationally, paving the way for our continued success. Building on this triumph, we introduced the improved AW5-2 weighing equipment to the market.
Who we are.
At CH-Aero, we specialize in aircraft weight and balance services and the sale of top-notch equipment. With approximately 300 weighings conducted worldwide each year, we ensure that engineers responsible for crucial weighing and balancing tasks within the maintenance team, receive comprehensive training through our esteemed CH-Aero Academy.

Beyond our weight and balance services, CH-Aero is renowned for its sustainable and cost-saving solutions that contribute to a safer and cleaner aviation industry. We proudly offer the de-refuel service and have successfully launched the innovative Aircraft Remote Service. Excitingly, we are actively involved in the development of the groundbreaking 'Zero Emmi' platform, collaborating with universities and partners in the aviation industry to research solutions that reduce aircraft weight in relation to emissions.

Expanding Horizons.
To meet the growing demand for our services and expand our market share, we made a strategic decision to invest in Service Remote Stations in 2021. These stations, known as Remote Service Hubs, enable our valued customers to have scales on loan throughout the year and perform the majority of weighings themselves. Through Remote Support Services, CH-Aero generates Weight and Balance reports based on the results provided by these hubs, ensuring seamless operations.
